Barcelona, July 22, 2025 – With over a dozen major wildfires recorded this summer in regions such as Galicia, Castilla-La Mancha, Aragón, and Andalusia, and more than 11.000 hectares devastated, Spain is once again confronting a wildfire season defined by intensity and unpredictability. As sixth-generation wildfires emerge—more aggressive, harder to control, and increasingly destructive—a new […]

Detecting a fire before it gets out of control
In California, where wildfires ravage thousands of hectares every year, we have shown that there is another way to anticipate them. Together with X2nSat, we have deployed a network of sensors connected directly to our satellites, without changing devices or operators, for only five euros per sensor.
These sensors measure temperature, humidity, pressure, and wind in real time, allowing us to anticipate the path of the fire, evacuate the population, and act quickly. Compared to traditional methods that are up to 300 times more expensive, our solution opens the door to a new era of natural disaster prevention with accessible and global technology.
The right amount of water for every crop
In the most remote areas of Chile, where drought is a daily challenge, we are helping farmers irrigate more effectively. Together with LemSystem, we will connect climate, soil, and crop sensors through our 5G-IoT satellite network so that, even without mobile coverage, they can make accurate decisions in real time.
The result: 30% savings in water and energy and a 10% increase in crop yield and quality. This partnership demonstrates that, with connectivity, even the most isolated places can lead the way in more sustainable, efficient, and competitive agriculture.
Bees need connectivity too
87% of the crops we eat depend on pollination, but only 15% of the world's beehives are connected. With BeeWaze, we bring 5G-IoT satellite connectivity to beekeepers in remote areas, who can now monitor the status of their hives and take timely action if any problems arise.
Thanks to the data they receive on their cell phones, these beekeepers improve the health of their bees and increase the production of fruits such as apples, pears, and cherries by up to 90%. Connecting beehives also means protecting the planet's food security.
The sea is no longer a blind spot
99% of containers traveling by ship remain disconnected during the voyage. In collaboration with t42, we are changing this by connecting these containers to our 5G IoT satellite network, allowing real-time tracking of their location, temperature, humidity, and impacts, even in the middle of the ocean.
This logistics revolution will enable shipping companies to prevent theft and damage, and save up to $47 billion a year. Since the invention of the container in 1956, there has not been such a significant step forward in global traceability.
Connected biodiversity in the heart of the Amazon
Protecting the Amazon is also a matter of data. In Brazil, we collaborate with NGOs such as the Blue Macaw Institute, the Space Institute for Wildlife, and SOS Amazonia, offering them free 5G IoT connectivity to monitor the rainforest and its endangered species.
Thanks to our network, these organizations can respond more effectively to threats such as deforestation and illegal wildlife trafficking, and make progress in reintroducing species such as the blue macaw. Connectivity thus becomes a direct ally of conservation.
The vultures that save lions
In southern Africa, together with the NGO Endangered Wildlife Trust, we have connected nature with technology. Through an innovative system called “Eye in the Sky,” vultures equipped with GPS sensors alert in real time to possible poisonings, a deadly threat also to lions, hyenas, and leopards.
Thanks to our network of LEO satellites, these alerts reach conservation teams without delay, even in areas without terrestrial coverage. It is a new and effective way to protect wildlife in its own habitat.
Clean water where no one measures it
In the United States, 43 million people depend on private wells for their drinking water. With Meratch, we will connect these wells with 5G NB-IoT technology via satellite, allowing remote monitoring of water quality, detection of contaminants, and anticipation of flood risks.
This means that even the most remote communities will have access to critical information to protect their health and their environment. With an affordable, reliable system that does not require large infrastructure, we are bringing the right to safe water to every corner of the country.
Technology that saves lives in rural Spain
In many rural areas of Spain, access to medical supplies is still a logistical challenge. With the VITAS project, autonomous drones connected by satellite deliver medicines to these locations, reducing delivery times and ensuring that no patient is left behind.
This innovation not only saves lives: it also drives the decarbonization of medical transport and demonstrates that 5G IoT technology can open up new avenues where none existed before. A real step toward health equity.
